Californians are very generous with stuff that isn't theirs.

 

I once went all the way through the eviction process only to have the tenant literally go cry to the judge on moving day. He gave her more time, in direct conflict with the state tenant-landlord code. I called him up and offered to split the cost of her rent with him. He didn't accept my offer. It's easy to feel good about helping people when it's not your money on the line. I was going to file a complaint about the judge, but Mr. Palughi had the nerve to drop over dead shortly thereafter.

 

One thing I've learned in business is that many times being a good boy and playing by the rules often doesn't get you anywhere. Apparently in Los Angeles at least there are people who will assist you in making hassle free evictions, cash only. I'd much rather pay that dude than waste money on lawyers and nonsense.
