Hey guys quick question, its my first season with Wera so I have a lot of questions. I have a 43 point lead in V8hw so far in the Atlantic coastal region. Im thinking that even if I don't show up at the last event which is Road Atlanta I will win the championship hopefully. My question is do I have to show up and enter the event anyway in order to win or can I skip it, if we keep staying very busy at work?? By my math I will hopefully still win by 3 points even if I dnt show up??
If your math is correct, no need to show up. Just make sure their isn't a dual region snafu that you may have overlooked.
Kev 59. The next race at R.A counts in Atlantic coastal region and southeast region. That doesn't make that race count as double.points or anything crazy does it???. I am leading southeast also but wasnt really trying to. I was only going for the Atlantic coastal championship.
It's a double header so there are 40 points up for grabs in each region. I found myself in the same situation last year. I'm primarily southeast but wound up winning both Atlantic & Southeast.
Awesome that's what I am hoping to do is win both regions. Cool I have a 43 point lead so I should be good on atlantic coastal at least. What are you riding. maybe I will see you at R. A if I go?
Just go to the race and snag two regions. In 2010 (as a novice), I accumulated so many points in those multi-region races that I'm pretty sure I won every region except WERA West.
What you need to realize is a regional championship is great. But in order to win the national championship you will need to go to GNF. National points are a total of your 6 best finishes for all races. And Tally is coming up as well as RA. And as its been pointed out both are Double points rounds. Me ive never been after regional titles because of the cross racing between regions. But keep eye on others points and who may show up to collect them and its your call. Regional are most points collected during season in that region. Best of luck. Steven
This. You won't get any competition from me for the regional stuff, but the GNF, that's a different story.
