I have a 96 GSXR 750 and am planning on removing the shock. According to the service manual, the correct way to remove the shock is to pull the swingarm at the same time. Do I have to pull the swingarm or is there another way to accomplish this task? Any tips would be appreciated (shock related of course :D )

    Thanks,
    John

you should be able to use jack stands and remove the two shock bolts and let the swing arm down enough to pull the shock out the top. If you need more room the you may need to remove the link too. Becareful of the brake fluid resevior do not want to pull the hose off it:)

Thanks HFD1Motorsports for the info. I will give that a try and see how it goes.

Take the jack from your car, put it on top of the rear wheel. Jack up the subframe to take any weight off the shock. Easiest way I've found to remove it.
