I am trying to sell my essentially brand new Scitsu tach. It is a 10k rpm tach with internal battery. It is setup for one spark per rev. It works great. I am just going to an egt/tach combo. I really don't want to sell it but the new gauge is pricey. I have only used it for one weekend at Barber in July, plus a little bit of carb tuning. These cost $250 new. I'm asking $200+ shipping. But I consider reasonable offers. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
Dude, hold onto that thing until you get what you want on-board and assured its what you want. That tach is the standard that others are measured against. I'd hate to see you sell this, not be pleased with what you think you want, and have to purchase another one. If a couple hundred bucks matters that much, you shouldn't be vintage racing!
I've had varied experiences with 'em. I prefer Krobers, but I can't find them any more. Maybe it is the vibes from the BSA thumper that have resulted in my ill-luck . . . . Your mileage may vary . . . . GLWS. Cheers, Dave
I'm buying a digatron with tach, egt, and CHT. It can do lap times and data log. Also, it has warning lights! I need an egt on this since its a 2 stroke. The digatron seems to be one of the few that has an egt gauge that uses an internal battery. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
Krober tach: www.hpi.be Pitsch-Krober…unless you already tried them. do you sprechen Germish? Carry on.
I have two pickups and two coils. From what I'm reading, the second HT lead may be too close to the first and could pick up a secondary pulse from the other cylinder. In that case, i'd possibly need a BLUE one, possibly.
What is your max rpm? I can bring it to CMP if you are going to be there. We can hook it up and try it. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
I'll be bringing it either way. So if you want to try it or anything just let me know. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
RPM=HP=crazy abuse on big end bearings. I know several people that tune their rds to make power past 10k. I know one person that does that reliably, the rest tend to break down a lot. Mine peaks at 9 and will tolerate about 400 rpm of overrev if I'm really wringing its neck. Of course, this is all as indicated by my CABLE drive tach, so who knows?
