I am on my third air cooled Ducati
    Love 'em
Just like going the road less traveled
Last Clubman race I was in had a two stroke 750 triple, a four stroke water cooled v twin Hawk , an FZ600 in line four, a water cooled parallel twin EX and my water cooled four stroke single
    Cmon....how cool is that?
Scott bring on the Fosters beer can piston two stroke!
    It will fit right in

Awesome but well below 775cc so does not answer the question:
What was above the limit that they were trying to keep out of the D class but was ok for Clubman?

No problem. Just tether it with safety wire and have Tech sign off with a sticker if it looks good. :p

    Very true
Legal in D but not Clubman
Yet a796 single is legal in Clubman but not D

Rules evolve. That is half the reason I'm asking
The other half is pure curiousity as to the thumper from Hell that was being targeted....if there was one

But then Mongo could have a bag of dicks to offer to feed to those that he doesn't agree with.

    Cmon Mongo....jump in.
What was the bike being legislated out of the D classes that was over 775cc?
    Inquiring minds need to know!

What year is your duke? who sells this bore kit, and what work do you already have done to the bike? I know there is a company in Germany that sells a larger piston for the 690s but it brought the older ones from 654cc to a 690cc and the newer true 690s to 720's

    It is a 2013
Main mods are custom light weight subframe, KTM cam, pipe, ECU remap, fairing and tail. Pic here:

I would very much like to know the German Company you refer to.

This is from the guy in Austria with the 796cc kit:
    Hello, Kit 796ccm

Special JF their own Zylinder109,6mm (Length should be adjusted depending on
    compression or gasoline octane RON)
    complete piston
Cylinder head gasket steel 3 layers
    4 Coupling Tops
4 cylinder stud bolts with screw nuts
    4 fuses for gears
    1 OIL nozzle
    2 Magnets 17mm Blue
    2 additional magnets
    Drawing for housing change
You must send your FI and EP Box CDI -Fi and EP (Elekronik) box for basic
    program
(different programs depending on the air box and exhaust system)
It's better with the original air box with Langen
    Rubber intake manifold original driving.
    Overall everything to USA =
I can send you the special Sponsoring because you the first in this class
    Racing are € 1900 + shipping ?? USA

    Tel.: 0043 7748 - 69 20
    Fax.: 0043 7748 - 69 20

So $2500 before you send the FI and ECU back for mods and then modify the cases to accept the new cylinder and then the rest of the install.
So probably five grand that I am not going to spend. I am guessing there is an AHRMA guy or two that will though.

I have no idea but there was a reason. No I can't see changing it for your bike ;)

Clubman is a faster class especially being Formula based than the street based D is. Always has been faster.

I did not ask you to change it. I haven't and most likely won't build it to 796cc
A Buell Blast was a 500 so that is not the answer
And lastly 796/800 Ducatis are legal in D but not clubman and can be built to be faster than anything that has ever run in Clubman so no, Clubman is not faster than DSB
However I did not start this thread to argue or change anything
The 775cc rule just made me wonder since I was looking at big bore kits and wanted to stay legal for D and Clubman and you answered my inquiry with "I don't remember" which is fine and I will move along
    Cheers
