From Brit Mag Fast Bikes Facebook : Yamaha have just announced that 2020 will be Rossi’s final year as a Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP Team rider, being replaced by Fabio Quartararo. The nine-time World Champ will make a decision mid-season as to whether or not he will continue to race in MotoGP after 2020 but is confident that the Japanese factory have got his back, saying, “Should I decide to continue, Yamaha is ready to support me in all respects, giving me a factory-spec bike and a factory contract.” Is this the end of an era?
Will depend on how he does this year. If I had to guess I would say Petronas on the factory backed bike for 2021.
As stated, if Rossi wants to continue, he'll have more support than any other rider in the paddock. The idea that Yamaha or any manufacturer would relegate him to B status is silly.

Rossi called it quits when he decided to kick the guy that he realized was going to usurp his GOAThood at Sepang. Yeah, I said it.

Funny you should mention that. They have video compilations of all his front end saves (including the one in Brno where they only have pictures). I'd love to see one editor finish his video with Marc easily losing his front end in Sepang.... I'd smirked.
