His heart would do whatever it takes to get the job done, just like NH69.

I think it would be cool if Laguna named the uphill climb to the corkscrew after him. It is symbolic of the the uphill battle he faced faced against the groomed GP grid he he was not part of.

    Here's the announcement I received...

The Motorcycle procession for Nicky Hayden will take place Monday, 5/29/2017. 12:00 pm

Riders will need to be at the 501 West 4th. St. Fisher Auto Parts ( Formally Gipe Automotive ) parking lots at 10:30. We are expecting a lot of riders. So this will give us time to get organized.

Dirtbikes, Flat Trackers, and Racebikes will not be allowed to follow the procession. We ask you to still show up and line the streets. We will line you up on West 4th Street.

What about the Kids: Parents that wish to take part in the memorial we would love to see the kids decked out in their gear holding their helmets next to their rides or just standing there. We will line them down the side of West 4th.St.

Those of you who do not ride we would also love to have your support along West 4th St. And Frederica St.

The riders will escort Nicky to his final resting place and once services have completed riders will be released. I have been asked to line Locust St. on both sides of the street. Once we fill that area we will then coral everyone else at the Fisher Auto parts lots.

Lets make this one last "Grip it and Rip it" moment for one of the Motorcycling Worlds best Ambassadors.

    Sincerely,
    Mike McFadden

Any particular event(s) happening at Donington Park?

I haven't seen anything, but then again I don't follow WSBK much...

    caferace No.

I believe it's already called the Andretti (or Rahal?) "straight". I could be mis-remembering.

This picture is on the WSBK Instagram story today, so it looks like they put up some sort of tribute. I'd imagine they are going to have some words/moment of silence etc.

After watching him crest turn one at Laguna pinned on that V5, that's my vote. He was committed. It took Rossi several years to figure it out.

It was really awesome, today at California Speedway one of the riders decided to bring a couple hundred Hayden 69 stickers and leave them for everyone to take and put on their helmets and bikes. I put one on each side of my helmet on one on the bike. Now I have a cool Nicky Shoei helmet.

I just looked up the track info...it is Rahal Straight. I like you idea with Turn 1...NH69 would attack that without flinching!

T2 is Andretti Hairpin, between T6 and T7 is the Rahal Straight, T8/8a is the Corkscrew and T9 is Rainey Curve. The rest of the track is open territory as far as I can recollect.

No shit I got my race number for a 50k trail race this morning and it was 692. When I started to have doubts and enter dark places I'd pat the 69 and just tell myself Nicky would give it gas, spin the rear and give it hell. It was muddy as shit and I was gassed at the end but it felt good to push through the dark places pat the number 69 and have some inspiration on the trail with me.
