I do like that candle base. The PH does look good. My new job that I start next week, will have alot of turning and carving that I will do on a regular basis. Some of it will be with a duplicator, but I will get to do the first pieces for the setup. Looks great mblashfield.

Yeah, I saw some rough necks show up in an art gallery once, with their hammers in tow.

    The hazing was relentless...

The original work was plaster that had degraded badly. The molds were no longer available so we reproduced them on our CNC routers with 3D software. There are 4 sets of everything.
    All 100ft in the air.
    The client was very happy.

Good luck on your next job! It’s cool to meet other hand working, creative types!

All of them. That's a bad ass ceiling.

  12. You really need to stop by our farm / shop. You’d fit right in, very nice work and I think mixing wood types isn’t done enough.

Can you elaborate on why the door is cut like that?

NOW that tagline makes more sense!
I'd have to say you've tamed that hand more than a bit.

Weather/wind blockage mainly. Plus the owner wanted a transom header at this particular opening that resembles some door at a castle in germany, hungary or chechoslovakia..........i dont remember where,he just shows us pictures from his vacations and tells us what he wants. In fact the lion knocker was purchased from whatever place he saw it. Im just the poor bastard that makes the stuff:D

I meant why is the top of the door cut off at all, is it just so it appears to be a bigger door than it actually is?
