I needed a new radiator cap for my RC51. I called 2 Honda dealers, they didn't have one in stock but would order for $37. I found out that a Honda Civic cap would work and was the same pressure as in the 51 service manual. Cap was $9 at Napa. Now I have more money to spend on tires! Just passing along the info...

Those standard type "old" type radiator caps only come in a few sizes, so yea finding one around shouldnt be too hard.

Should I be surprised that dealers do this? Guess not. They would sell more if they didn't. Kinda like the movie theater and concessions. I love to support my local shops and dealers, but sometimes enough is enough.

1990's Honda "car" units usually fit.

Its the same cap for pretty much all Honda's since mid 90's. CBR1000's, 600's, F2, F3, Goldwings, ST1300, VFR800, VRF750, VTX1300's, Shadow 750's, VTX1800's, XR650's, CRF250R's and more. Should be pretty easy to find one (or take one off another bike for the weekend).

    Part Numbers:
    19037-hn2-003
    19307-gee-710

    MSRP: $23.78
