Can you guys give me some recommendations?,no slicks, the other vintage org doesn't allow warmers, and I I'm thinking that a lot of current race tires may be designed to work with them? 3.5,4.5 17's
However - I'm sure some of the other peeps who have run AHRMA on bigger twins and the like will have better or at least a lot more specific info.
It's AHRMA, Vintage superbike,I plan on being at Mid Ohio too,if the race I run with them next month at Gingerman goes ok.
AHRMA allows them in modern classes but in vintage they aren't in order to "preserve" the heritage. I see both sides but because now they allow modern rubber IMO they should allow warmers for those classes. They originally made the rules when all vintage bikes were 60's and 70's models.
Still trying to figure out why ahrma hates Fzr400's. 25 year old bike that some how there isn't a vintage class for but you can race an 05 SV all day long
Ive wondered many things... I'm planning on running or trustee and hopefully helping get some common sense changes implicated.
Hey man in not saying I agree. I think warmers should be used on the "vintage" bikes using 17' radials. As for the older style bias tires they heat up quickly and work well after about 3 corners and the warm up lap
How about the newest generation "trackday" tires ? I would think they had to be designed with maybe no warmers in mind.
