Look at this Facebook Portal thingy.

Did nobody else read 1984? These things are LITERALLY telescreens.

It's retarded. I'm no tinfoil hat guy, but Jeezus. What are these people thinking?

That's the big difference between 1984 and reality. In 1984 it was forced, in reality, people are paying to install eavesdropping equipment in their homes and paying to give their DNA information to a reseller.
But hey, did you see The Bachelorette last night?

I was a HS sophomore in 1984, so of course we read the book. There was a class discussion on how society got to the point of everyone having a telescreen in their homes.

Oddly enough, no one proposed that everyone would be tripping over themselves to purchase the latest and most intrusive models.

So hypothetically, if we were to agree that only certain things should be crimes (murder, assault, theft), would it really be that bad if everything was recorded?

So you want your BJ’s recorded? What about taking a dump? Or tslkimg to your financial adviser?

Also I would bet we (peons) get recorded but they (“elites”) don’t.

    I’m going to pass.

That’s why I said hypothetically. In reality it would never be applied fairly. I was just trying to enhance the conversation.
