The tires might be 4" wide however they are fairly light.

On the local trail the boss' best time is 21 min 10 seconds (using a 22 lb carbon frame $8500 msrp bike). His first time on the trail with the Fat Rat he ran 22 mins using standard platform pedals)

26" but we do have one of the 27.5+ full suspension bikes and it's an awesome set-up.

Go demo one. Ride it straight into a curb.
You'll freek out. Grip for days and it floats over roots, rocks and sand.

I think I want a fat tire bike. I think it'll make a much better training tool than my road bike.

I should probably use it more, not a road bike by any means but it gets the job done:

I think the last time we talked I was referencing shying away from motorcycles and getting more into guns. I'm toying with the idea of going racing again but not every single regional. It almost took the fun out of it knowing you had to make every race to maintain points.

I doubt I'll ever not be into bicycles though!

You have my number, my Facebook, and this place. I didn't know you were down my way until you posted pics of the academy! I would have gladly gone for a spin with you.

I haven't really gone out for a ride other than the test ride after the build. That said, I love it so far. Right hand to shift to harder gears, left hand to make it easier, and both at the same time to shift the front. I'm running an ultegra casette, red 22 chain and praxis rings. So far it seems to shift like butter too.

Great build. Partial to the Zipp cockpit and the matching wheels. Don't forget the bar tape!
