Well, that's intriguing. Would you like to expound? .....oops, just re-read it. "Flight" benefits. I was wondering what kind of benefits you were talking about... I guess the brain only sees what it wants to see...
I'll be paying for my insurance in a few months - $555.84/family for the year then a small copay for every visit.
Yeah, but the people here getting screwed are also the ones that have jobs and at least TRY to be responsible adults. I know I ain't got no time for protesting!
Obamacare exempt that's why. Retired vet in a few months. So not Obamacare, I'll be exempt and on Tricare. If I rate a high enough disability rating I'll be able to get VA health care.
So serious question here. I live out of the US but am back and forth sometimes. Have had a decent US based heatlh plan for expats thats Blue cross/blue shield and a ppo. I pay 275.00 a month and have been for 4 years. I used it to fix my knee and was happy with how they treated me. Anyways my policy just came up for renewal and it turns out it doesn't meet the requirements for obomacare. So I just got back to the states and checked my mail and I have an irs w-9 letter asking about my health insurance from last tax return. I need international health care and am happy with my policy. So question is do I renew my regular insurance and also buy cheap obamacare and bite the bullet just to make the MAN happy? Is there an issue with having 2 insurances?? Only in the states for a week so need to get this figured out!!! Can't wait to leave and go back to a place where this absolute bullshit doesn't exist!! Thanks
There's no such thing as "cheap" Obamacare insurance... But seriously, as far as I know it depends on how much time you spend in the US. You may qualify for an exemption if you don't spend a certain amount of time here.
It appears that we might have some forced changes to Obamacare since, at last word, I think four major insurance companies are dropping out of the Obamacare program. (Humana, Aetna, United Healthcare, and I forget the fourth.) They have been dropping millions over the Obamacare period and only will be offering private insurance except for a few areas. Obamacare might end up choking to death on it's own failure. I hope.
Won't happen, that would require the government to have less legislation. Instead they'll make new laws that won't work either
I think you have to be outside the US for more than 330 days in a 365 day period to meet the exemption.
Has anyone had trouble getting appointments more recently, like the last year or two? Some specialists have always been hard - dermatologists, for example... It appears, from talking to some people at work, Obamacare and the insurance situation is having an effect on availability of care as well.
I make it a priority to keep up with my friends in med school and be friendly to Dr's I meet. Having Dr friends is a huge comfort when the SHTF / they'll make time to see you even after hours. Speaking of I need to mail a letter of thanks to someone that helped me out this summer when Vandy was log jammed
That's exactly the issue. Vandy and St. Thomas both are backed up in a number of areas. I'm told mental health and OB-GYN are two areas where people aren't able to get appointments in under 3 months.
Well, I guess that you will just have to move! http://www.businessinsider.com/pinal-county-arizona-has-no-obamacare-insurers-2016-8
