Piney point phosphate mine

    Not sure if we can even have this conversation without it going off the rails , but it looks like this is another Huge red Tide in the making for the Gulf side of Florida. Looks like Fishing this summer is shot in the Ass for Areas of Tampa and south of there on West Coast ... :confused::mad::mad:

    A couple of huge ponds of nutrient rich waste water that maybe radioactive left behind from an abandoned phosphate mine that are leaking and levee is on verge of collapsing . Roads closed and people forced out of homes . They determined the best fix is to release this mess into the Gulf of Mexico near Tampa .. :eek:

    There's only 300 million gallons left.

    Couldn't they rent some out of use oil barges and bring them in ?

    These are nowhere near the immediate water , they are inland and draining it into a creek . That flows into the Gulf .

    I dont think this is the first time that gypsum pond has sprung a leak, but I fear this is the last time it will leak.
