Yeah, I'd be very curious to see how he explains that piece of BS. CNN made sure that its viewers were aware that he wasn't on their payroll.
what did the National Geographic POS say this time? I know we had to target around him and Bernny Shaw last time, but hadn't heard what he did now.
Fox news has on their banner "ABC correspondent Peter Arnett...". I bet in 6 months he'll be mowing my lawn for $6 a pop. What a tool.
HA HA! Arnet got canned by NG and the network this morning! Oh well, don't feel bad for the guy, I'm sure he can start working full time for the Iraqi minstry of (dis)Information ASAP.
for those of u with better things to do and/or living under a rock Arnett went on Iraqi TV and did an "interview" he said that he and Saddam were buddies and said that the US plan had failed and that we were loosing the war.
sorry, i was at roebling this weekend. thanks. sound like the clown should be tried for treason to me.
Arnett went on Iraqi state funded TV and gave an interview. Basically talking about how the war is not going well for America and it obviously shows because of the protests that are going on all over the country. Thank goodness he was fired and now that the entire country of Iraq knows what he looks like and knows that he is not in a correlated with any of the news agencies over there, he may have a hard time getting out of that country. I have a feeling that he has a huge target either on his back or forehead.
He's a Kewi (they are a little wierd) but acts like a Canadian... Paige- Unfortunately, the Iraqis will never find out that he was fired.
What the hell was he thinking? He is out of a job now and he screwed up the rest of his life. http://www.msnbc.com/news/893115.asp?0cv=CB10
Arnett He is actually a naturalized US citizen, originally from New Zealand. Americans will DIE as a result of what he said, Revoke his citizenship, seize his property and divide it among the family’s of the troops that are killed!
I think, once he has a real chance to reflect on what he has done, while standding in the unemployment line, he may find himself sleepless at nights. ( It was also my understandding, he made reference to a old story about the U.S. Army in Vietnam using nerve gas on a village. ) I think this guy did need to go and I'm very glad some one helped him pack.
Arnett's comments were way out of line for a reporter, but has anyone been following the story of the Columbia U assistant professor that called for "a million Mogadishus"? So far all the university has done is issue a statement expressing "shock". Arnett's statements pale in comparison.
What I don't understand was why didn't the networks learn the leason during the D.Storm. It is the same guy that CNN used back then? David
