The board, that is. Since the switch, it's been painfully slow to navigate around. Now, granted, i'm stuck on dialup, which says a lot, but it's noticeably slower than all the other phbb or vbulletin boards I frequent. Not a bitch session, just a little heads up and a "is there anything we can do" post . Cheers, Lee S.
Weird, it's faster than before on high speed. Not sure why diapup would make it slower. My cellphone connection seems a touch quicker too.
I am on a T3 and I have noticed it is slower than before the update? I didn't say anything earlier but figure I would put my .02 in now.
What is the 411 on your cell connection? Are you using a modem for your laptop? I need to get my laptop connected for work and need something that will work anywhere the cell will work, which cuts out the broadband wireless offerings.
Treo650 through Cingular, unlimited data plan, bluetooth or USB to the laptop. Not huge fast but faster than dialup and good signal most everywhere. Had good signal but a lsow connection at Roebling, lots of stuff timing out but that's the worst it's ever been. Usually as long as I have signal I'm good to go.
Well, I guess all ya'll that are slow are kind of screwed, I have no idea how to make it faster for only some people sorry.

Hey Frank, 2 questions. How do I run this "trace" you type of? My pooter is slower playin GTA vice city also. Where's a good place to start to ass-ertain where the slowness be comin from? I've added no new programs. Norton runs everynight. I've also run IE Purge and Ad-Aware in the last 2 days. any suggestions. Thanks. Oh, Speedzilla does not seem slower.
just type this in a command window: tracert forums.13x.com To get a cmd window : start->run "cmd" (without the quotes) or start->programs->accessories->command prompt
On XP/2000 just open a command window (Start... Run... cmd) and type: tracert <destination> where "destination" is the IP address or name of the host you want to trace a route to. tracert /? will give you the syntax for the command Man, it would take another 20 pages to describe ways to improve performance. One thing that I'll recommend that works real well that most people don't do is a registry cleaner utility - RegSupreme is a reliable one. Cleans up stale registry entries with the potential to get your system back to the speed it was before the typical Windoze sluggishness set in. For other things just use your favorite search engine to find windows performance tips, many, many things to do.

Their coverage map looks much better than Sprint's. Sigh. We were just about to switch my wife's phone to Sprint since she can't tolerate Cingular anymore (spent HOURS with tech support trying to fix her voice mail and evidently they are incompetent...how hard can it be to delete her mailbox and set up a new one?). Sprint's data wireless data network is practically nonexistant.
But of course. Hell, I race motorcycles...what's to fear from being logged in as root on me own box? If I commit an oops it's just another war story to tell over a beer.
