"Once upon a time in Hollywood"

Discussion in 'General' started by Gorilla George, Dec 16, 2019.

  1. Ok, has anyone actually been able to finish this movie?

If so, can you tell me what it is supposed to be about?

It had a lot of big name actors in it, so we decided to watch it. It was the biggest clusterfucked shitshow of cockrandom scenes that amounted to fuckall.

It was like it just bounced from one irrelevant scene to the next. I am not sure how long I made it, maybe 45min or so, then I had to turn if off. I was scared that movie was going to give me Ebola.

Man, that was a really convoluted rant there Chris.

Good on you for “fuckall” though...

    "Cockrandom"

That's a first for me. Sounds like a wheel of fortune type game that chicks play on girls night out at the bar/nightclub :D

its called a tarantino movie, guessing you never watched pulp fiction either?

  6. Nope.

But I think I’ve seen memes based on it. :D

I was watching it on my flight to Ft. Lauderdale. I was about to switch to CNN when I saw Charles Manson (I think) so I decided to keep watching in hopes that the cast would be massacred. A couple of minutes later the screen was reset by the flight crew, so I switched channels. This movie was offset by "Good Boys" on the return flight.
And this movie is convoluted way beyond his previous work.

  8. I struggle with attention deficit bad enough during “normal” movies. Movies that bounce around so much like that aggravate me so much that it makes me furious.

I wanted to uppercut whoever this Tarantino dude is right in the junk.

You're in east Tennessee, right? Maybe he'll go home for Christmas and you'll get the chance.

Those Tarantino movies are all over the place. It’s like several movies/plots within a movie.
You can’t multitask when watching his movies.

I would think it would fall right in line with “squirrel” type stuff. No need to follow A plot line ... Here’s 12. :D

Please, do not insult Pulp Fiction by comparing this movie to it. :D

I think even you could watch Pulp Fiction in one sitting. Even you. :D

I disagree! Too much focus is needed to watch any of his movies.

The way the story is told, regularly switching between different sub-stories, his interest would be refreshed regularly, just before he got bored.

It’s hard keeping focus of any of his movies. The only reason I suffered through pulp fiction is because some coworkers told me a THE scene, with V. Rhames .

My wife has ADD so I just asked and she hates Pulp Fiction, too. Because of how Marsellus Wallace gets raped.

@Gorilla George, Do you have an issue with rape?

    Was that Ving Rhames character?
    If so, Wallace gets “medieval
    on Mr. Wannabe rapist”.

I wasn’t sure of Rhames’s character name in Pulp Fiction.
