Looking for one of the old school Suzuki branded rear stands (front stand too if I can find one). This is for my Barber Concours project. Anybody have one or set they want to let go of? Thanks M
Pat Yep! - I want to use the OEM style for the “show” part of the Concours. On that note, I still need to call Robert. Life is nuts.
I have one that was just refinished. Just needs the Suzuki decals. If you want pictures, let me know and I'll get some shots of it.
I like your style RRP......I think Ron Raven would as well.....I think you "Get" what Ron is shooting for, Bravo!
It didn't come with it, you had to pay extra. But that is the stand that I am referring to. Right now, it is freshly painted, but with no decals on it. New wheels too.
Well, the finished product is going to be the result of several 2nd Gen GSXR race/track bikes (mutt!). So my hope is to make it is a legit as possible given it's "race heritage" is a bit of a hodge podge, as my Mom would say.
Glad to see you are thinking about next year's Concours. We have been doing a little bit of planning also. Of course it is too early to officially announce a schedule. Here is a sneak peak to focus your project. https://www.facebook.com/Concours-de-Competition-104816537536615/ We will be starting a thread here for all the details and rules soon although it will be roughly similar to this year's event only with more entrants. Requests for invitations will likely open in about February. Keep building.
The story I heard was that they were designed to allow the girlfriends to be able to put the bike up on the stand while the racer held the bike...
There was also a Suzuki P&A stand that was very popular and our dealership sold like crazy. And it was a big bunch of money cheaper than that one.
I have one of the other style Suzuki stand that I bought when I got my '86 GSXR and got tired of looking at it in such a worn state. I worked out a deal with a friend and put all new stainless hardware, new wheels, and a very nice paint job on it. Only thing missing is the Suzuki decals.
