Sucks.. They're out there for one reason to help us. Be sure to give those guys a wave on your cool down lap and stop and say hello when you have a chance in the paddock.
Posted this on facetubes, but good enough for this back alley ... heard about this and near cried. Cornerworking is about the most selfless task about. Always wave back. They care about you more than you can imagine. -jim
Thoughts go out to the rider who's bike or debris ended up hitting her also, in sure that will be a very heavy burden to bear.
So sad. 18 years volunteering to aid riders and drivers? Perhaps naming turn 7 after her service would be appropriate?
COuldn't post what I knew yesterday and just couldn't get on here today. We're all just in shock and gutted. Hazel was one of the coolest people
RIP Hazel. Word got out in the pits a lifeflight was called. Never expected it was for a corner worker. Don't know the details but it just seems strange this would happen to someone so experienced and well thought of.
If you ever went through T7 in the last way too many years Hazel was the one there watching over you. She's going to be truly missed
Chatted with her a few times in between races while i was out that way watching, she seemed to know a decent amount about going fast through there. Prayers for her family and friends.
