    I used to make furniture out of driftwood when I lived in the Santa Cruz area....I remember it was always an engaging and creative exercise to see what I could make out of the driftwood I found on the local beaches after winter storms...

    That lion is absolutely spot on...whoever created it, captured in driftwood, the essence and splendor of a lion in a regal pose...

    They've been protected for decades. Back in the mid-late '80s maybe. For sure I know they were in the early '90s...5 years/$5k fine, minimum. Maybe it was $15K or that's what is is today?

    Not sure what to tell, anytime I've seen both in the same place the swans were more aggressive.

    I remember my oldest girl asked me if we could have bald eagle for dinner one night.
    I told her it would probably taste like ill-prepared sandhill crane and we should just forget that she asked (don't want the government at our doorstep ya know).
