Alex and I stopped by the facility this evening to check it out (I'll post some photos shortly). The track manager, Jordan, his fiance, Tiffany, and track marshal Branden were there.
Very nice people...very eager to get going this coming weekend.

They've done a pretty detailed job of setting up their broad expanse of asphalt into a multi-configuration facility and I don't see any barriers looking to be an issue in that space. There's lots of paddock space for setting up pits, fencing is coming in to separate that area from the race track, there's bleachers coming in tomorrow, picnic tables, and a couple more portable potties are on the way as well.

Jordan said their looking at like at least 20 different configurations...sprints and endurance races are in the plan.

    I'm extremely optimistic.

I don't have any mini's anymore but I would like to try my 450 out there and see how it is. I've been to NJMP kart track a lot so it would be nice to mix it up plus it's not to far from Philly

There's be some murmors of minis rentals. And I know they are looking at Sumo at some point. Dunno if 450s will be in the mix though. They are getting things nailed down

A 450 seems like it would be alot to hustle around a small track......wouldn't it? I would think something like a 100-150 4 stroke would be the thing to have. Anyhow, as luck would have it we did just pick up a ttr125 for the 13 year old this past christmas.......

Sure seems like it to me. I know my 450 was good for turning the ton and wheelie happy as all hell in 1st.

190 air cooled or 150 water cooled 4 strokes seem to be the big minis now. CRF150R and the Ovale bikes brought 190cc air cooled plants

    100% a 150R is a lot better on kart tracks compared to a 450

A good rider on a 100 will make an okay rider on a 450 feel real silly.

Technical layout. Lots of grip. And it’s a hoot. $30 totally well spent.

I’m doing the best I know how.

    We learn from each other.

And I really couldn’t ask for a better kid.

I had another Dad come find me at a water park and compliment my sons behavior playing with his kids in the kids pool How Often does that happen? I thanked him humbly.

I took no personal pride in that moment. All credit goes to my kid.

I’m proud of who I see him becoming as I enjoy my time with him

Last Saturday was a complete fucking BLAST!!!!!

    United Mini freakin' ROCKS!

My son and I were both entered in two classes. So, I paid for our races plus transponder rentals.

    We got

2 twenty minute open practice sessions

    2 ~10 minute qualifying sessions

    2 six lap heat races

    2 10 lap final races

All total I paid less than $100 for the day.

And after the racing was over, the karts started running along with minis for open practice until closing.

Just a fantastic place to get oodles of inexpensive seat time on a technical little course and have fun.

Got The Kid this weekend...was planning on Friday, but weather watching at the moment...Saturday for sure looks clear. So that may be THE day we play.
