    hope nobody bumps you while you are on the freeway. One of the main considerations of most of the airbags (Dainese that I know of) is you have to be able to maintain control of the motorcycle in case of accidental inflation. There could be instances where the algorithms will trigger the suit but you may not actually crash (there have been at least one instance of a motoGP rider in at least one early version who basically high sided the bike but landed back on it and was able to continue the race even with the airbag deployed, they usually deflate within a few seconds of the inflation).

    If you look at some of the original air bag attempts that Dainese started with in 2000, they started with large external bags vaguely similar to this or the hit air vests, but decided that the internal systems provided better protection.
