Network/Fiber trouble shooting

Some of you guys might remember the house project I've been working on, installing fiber over 1300 ft to bring network to a gate installation. So far so good, but I'm having trouble getting the devices 'on' the network.

    Heres how its set up:

Asus AC1700 router>Netgear 24 port Switch> Startech gigabit media converter>1300ft of singlemode Fiber>Startech Gigabit Media converter>Lorex POE 4 port Switch > Lorex POE Camera

We have good uplink on the fiber, just no network. I 'think' all the patch cables are good. What should I do? :(

Test with a laptop (wifi disabled) at each hop until things break.

Speed/duplex mismatch between media converter and switch on one or both ends?

    All gigabit.

This is a good point too... isolate each end... If laptop in the POE switch can communicate with the camera, and a laptop can communicate with the rest of the network when plugged into the Netgear, then your problem lies in the media converter section. Are they getting good links to the switches using copper?

I don't know all the models used, but I'm going to assume all of this equipment is the "unmanaged" variety - so no VLANs, trunks, etc?

    Good idea!

Probably a dumb question, but using Cat5E/6 copper patch cords?

Can you disable auto speed on the converters?

Possible fiber is flipped (send/receive) at one end?

He would have no physical link if that were the case. Is that the case? I'm guessing the Startech units have link lights for both the fiber and the copper connections.

This may sounds stupid, but do you have power at the far end for both the switch and the camera?

I was hoping it was something simple, rather than a damaged fiber.

So am I but starting with the basics is usually better. If the lights aren't on then no one is home to switch traffic. :D

    Yes we do.

We do have status lights on the media converters showing good fiber link. I haven't had a chance to try to diagnose with a laptop but hopefully can this evening.
