    Maybe I misunderstand what they were trying to patent... Were they trying to patent the process of separating the genes? Cuz, if so, I don't see why they couldn't patent the process if its something that takes special knowledge or equipment that they came up with and can replicate. Obviously, you can't patent a gene itself though... That's stupid, that's like trying to patent an arm, or a leg..

    This decision will, in the short term, lead to a lot of misinformation for people who go to get testing done at centers that aren't supported by Myriad.
