I've been wandering around the the southwest on a bike for the last 8 days and will cross over CA and head up the PCH from LA on Monday. If any one wants to meet up for dinner or some riding or something, let me know. Gotta turn back toward home about the 24th.
Where exactly are you now Steve? Will you be coming through the San Diego area? If so shoot me a PM and if I can't get out for a ride we could grab a bite together....
I'll hit Sequoia/Kings Canyon NPs today. Won't be coming as far south as SD. I plan on getting on the PCH a little north of LA.
If you want something fun so you don't have to slab it through Santa Barbara, which can be really boring. Hop on route 33 towards Ojai when you leave Ventura. Stay on 33 until you get to the 166. Make a left on the 166 and it will take you right back to route 101 in Santa Maria. From there you can hop on route 1 in the PISMO Beach area and then enjoy route 1. We used to do this when we'd go to Laguna Seca for motoGP. I'M NOT SURE WHAT BIKE YOU'RE ON SO BE SURE TO GAS UP BEFORE YOU LEAVE OJAI!! it's really twisty and fun on the 33 then straightens out, but it's worth it to see some cool farm country and the twisties on 33 are awesome! That route looks pretty good, Z. I may give it a try. I need to get gas at around 130 miles to be safe. I was in Vegas 2 days ago. Next weekend I expect to be up around Redwood NP.
