Dude, I was there around Christmas time. My DIL is from around there (Rio Grande City actually) and I love it down there. Been many times. Gotta love that sweet little airport.

 

Yeah man, I love The Valley. My parents have a winter house in Pharr. I typically make a trip down every year but it just didn’t work out. But for sure, I love The Valley.

I have given some serious thought to buying a home and retiring down there myself. I'm sure that my son and grandkids will eventually end up somewhere in south Texas and I really, really like my DIL's family down there. Besides, I was actually born a Texan (Fort Worth) so there is that whole "circle of life" thing as well.
