Anyone can get one if you pay your money. Now when you get your real novice license then you can be happy.
I don't know if they still do this but if you take the Bargy school you only have to race one weekend as a provisional novice.
Hey, Tracee, I had a chance to go expert this week. I had to petition to stay novice, though. I just didn't think it would be right to run two races as a PN, and then go straight to expert. See Ya, Darrin Talbott
Wow, a compliment. Let me finish higher than last before you call me a cherrypicker, ok? See Ya, Darrin Talbott
You did the right thing Darrin. You need more racecraft before going expert. Anyone get their new RRW yet? They have a great article about roadracing tactics from some of the greats.
Cherrypicker. I love it. Seeing as how it's supposed to snow this weekend, we might as well sharpen up that old saw. I got my letter too. I'm not petitioning to stay novice, so I might as well go out and buy some white paint and primer. Can't order the digits until I know if I get to keep my old number. See y'all in the spring.
Tracee, it might have been the right thing, but I didn't enjoy it. I damn sure wanted those white plates, but I don't deserve them yet. See Ya, Darrin Talbott
Great article. I thought of it as soon as I read "racecraft". I enjoy alot of teh stuff that Oxley writes.
Tigerblade, I'm sorry I kicked your post in a different direction. Congratulations, and have fun. Darrin Talbott
Tigerblade, If you haven't ran your first race yet, three observations for you: 1. Six laps of racing is MUCH better than a full track day. 2. Bring a tape recorder to your first race, and record the radio broadcast. If you are mentioned, it will be a great mememto. 3. Remember, this is supposed to be fun. See Ya, Darrin Talbott
Good idea, never thought of that one. I can see it now, grandkids in my lap and I tell them about racing and they say prove it. You whip out a tape and they're like what's that? You say it's a cassette and then put it in your ancient player for them to listen to. And then they hear your name and get all smiles.
Look at the CMRA ad. "We have the largest Endurance Series in America". Funny, I never knew about running CMRA endurance. Guess it's that big...
Yeah, Mr. Microphone recommended it to me AFTER my first race "Did you tape it? I mentioned your name about four times, at least." See Ya, Darrin Talbott
