You can blame the giant Englishman, at Macon Rental Co, for clueing me in to the area. :D

If you are a bicyclist there is a lot of good riding up there. A former TDF guy has a resort in the area that caters to rich road riders. Swamp Rabbit Trail will take you straight into Greenville for your beer & taco fix.

my wife had her heart set on asheville. but for what were going to pay for a 3 bedroom in travelers rest might get us a shack in asheville. greenville is cheaper so this is a compromise . plus she likes to hike and camp and wants to be close to the mountains. as for me- i should be closer (within 4 1/2 hours) to 4-5 tracks.

IMO you will be much better off in TR. I grew up in that area and still have family and friends from Spartanburg to Clemson. It's a nice area and Greenville offers a lot too.

Asheville has gone off the deep end. I always loved going there but now it's just too weird.

Just remember a NJ conservative is a liberal. Listen to others a while before talking on how to make it even 'better' or vote

TR is a great town! Great taco spot, great pizza spot and a great bicycle shop with trails nearby. A great flat track also. Perfect location. Personally I can't stand Greenville SC or Asheville. Pretentious and half full of the worst people from the far corners of the country.

    Congratulations Tom,
Great area. My better half had a job offer there last year but we could not get everything in line at the time to make the move.
Damn we would have been neighbors!!

    restaurant 17 isn’t shabby either

put the wife in there for a 3 day yoga retreat for her bday

kiddo likes tr for the pumptrack and the dh trail in the park, like mentioned, sidewall, monkey wrench, top soil, farmhouse tacos - all good reasons for not needing to head into G-vegas
