Yep, Rossi was fast once upon a time too.

 

Stoner did a 1,21.067 Qualifying lap at Sachsenring in 2008, and got pole position, with qualifying tires. Rossi did a 1,20.532 today on race tires, and got 6th. Old and slow

 

Pretty sure he is still on the grid, still on the podium, still competitive, and still in demand.

 

Yeah, somebody has to fill out the grid. He's become quite the middle of the pack rider.
