It’s not just the engine of course. You can have the most powerful engine in the world if it doesn’t deliver it the right way it’s not going to make it fast. The Duc’s speed comes from optimizing everything to take advantage of that badass motor, the chassis, aero, electronics. The speed is part of an entire package. I think that’s much harder to replicate than just making a stronger motor. Yamaha has chosen to optimize handling, Ducati traditionally optimized straight line speed and acceleration. For either one to optimize for the other would require changing many things about the package.
