from the overhead, looks like Aliex actually left the door open, and unfortunately Quattro lost the front going through it. Quattro actually seemed to be on the racing line. Great save by Aleix though to stay up and finish 4th. https://www.instagram.com/p/CfRq4HYIt5T/ EDIT: or maybe he just sucks
So last week the top 2 were French and 3rd was an Australian. This week top 2 are Italian, both from VR46 Academy, and 3rd was Spain . 6 Different riders on the podium. MotoGP is pretty sweet.
‘I won’t try any overtakes’ - Fabio Quartararo ‘congratulates’ MotoGP Stewards https://www.crash.net/motogp/news/1...akes-quartararo-congratulates-motogp-stewards
Long-lap penalty is a slap on the wrist. On the spectrum of egregious penalties, it barely registers when you compare that to losing a race for putting half an inch of rubber on fake grass on the final lap.
Asparagus certainly pulled back points from Quat that he otherwise probably would not have if Quat would have been able to make a clean pass. Asparagus should be thanking him.
Penalizing Quart at the next race is ridiculous. He has already effectively been penalized for his mistake. What more incentive is needed beyond what has already happened? And why didn’t they just give him a long lap penalty when he went back out if they felt a penalty was warranted? You can’t race motorcycles at the highest levels and not make an occasional mistake. It’s called a racing incident, move on.
Especially when you consider that he doesn't have a history of making aggressive moves. Totally bogus.
Yep it’s a little over the top considering his history in addition to the points he lost. A sternly written letter should have been sufficient.
That was a heroic ride from Aleix. I hope he takes the ship this year. Can’t help but root for the whole Aprilia team. They’re the definition of underdogs.
won't it be something if he lost the championship by the number of points he left on the table with his last lap mistake. They are a good story.
