Am I the only one wondering why people are crying about not being able to survive making just minimum wage? When I was in high school and working at a oil change place, I made min wage cause it was what I consider a "starter" job, like flipping burgers. It's not a job that I would expect someone to try to support their family on it. You want to earn more money, learn a skill and get a better job.
Do y'all really want to discuss this in General? Is is Papa's birthday and someone arranged a present? HBD Papa.
whats with all the lurkers and noobs trying to get in on the action lately and maikng fools of themselves. thats my job
And, dammit, I have failed to commend you for your outstanding performance this year. Kudos and keep up the good work.
Ya...some lady was interviewed on NR this morning... "Im a single mom and I cant support my family with what I make at McDonalds, I have to get foodstamps, they can afford to pay more" Lawyer representing them "they can afford to pay more". Funny that they never asked the lady whyshe was thirty and working in the drive-thru lane.
There is a mentality of being owed. I work a shit job that is only worth $3.35 an hour but because this is america, I'm owed $10 an hour. Shit jobs are not meant to be careers. They are there as a means to an end: Getting educated, skilled or building your esteem to be able to get a better job that pays you more. I've worked some shit jobs and used them to move up. Yeah, over educated for those jobs but some of them were fun and a means to an end (no responsibility and being a slacker).
