What mods do you guys think are the "must-dos" to race prep a stock 04 GSXR 750 -- for a novice racer? I have a Graves (I think) fairing stay and race bodywork installed already...I rode the bike last Summer at several track days. Thanks! -Harp
Drill and wire per the rulebook, get rid of the antifreeze (shoulda already done that), and you're set.
Very minimal...I like that. BTW, I still have antifreeze...they don't make us switch it out for track days around here. -Harp
A friend of mine, who will be a novice this spring, just bought an '05 GSXR 600 and he's puting an additional $6000 into it. This doesn't include any engine work. -Harp
Good question... - full exhaust / power commander / custom map - Ohlins steering damper - fork revalve (he's a big guy) - shock spring - rearsets - clip-ons - case covers - body work - paint - fairing stay - tire warmers - ????? It's amazing how it all adds up. He's got the money...so why not? He's also puting money into schools and many track days this spring. BTW, I just picked up some used Vortex adjustable rearsets for my 750 from the classified section of the board for a good price. Score! -Harp
He may have the best looking bike out there but can he ride the thing. I would save some of that money for tires and track time.
Where'd you hear that Everyone knows chrome makes you faster becuase the sun reflects on the chrome and heats the air around it so the air has a lower density and you have less wind resistance
