For those who left thier skirts at home, yes indeed Or maybe I should say those who brought their game.
I don't know about you guys, but the thing that bothers me most with the kink is the dip in the middle of it. Going through a turn at full tilt in 5th gear while fully leaned over I can handle. Doing it with my suspension bottoming out because it is so soft to handle the rest of the bumps makes me back off a bit.
After crashing there, and seeing two other guys do the same (Telly Steimel and Doug Duane) I think the kink should be the first thing re-paved. Luckily all three of us walked away. The bikes weren't so lucky!
dont forget about dan cole he also crashed there! broken wrist and thumb. crash the same way telly did lost the front with no warning
That would be the aforementioned giant pothole that used to be there. Apparently, they just paved over it. - Roach
I remember Frank Trombino blew a dunlop slick going through the kink and that was pretty damn nasty looking! but that was a tire issue.Rueben crashed the endurance bike at the kink in 04(downshifted one too many gears I think)he got hurt then also but he did not make it to the tire wall that time.
Lee, Excellent comments. Your a class act for sure and prove that with your posts!!! Iam sure Scott appreciates all the info on improvements!
Ass Kisser!! Seriously though, Lee is an awesome guy and i agree with his points 110% Nelson is an awesome track for motorcycles but is in desperate need of improvements. I think I hit some of the same holes, bumps, whoop d doos, etc as I did in 89 at the 24 hr there!!
