http://media.guardian.co.uk/iraqandthemedia/story/0,12823,932481,00.html Apparently the journalists killed at the hotel were hit by an Iraqi rocket, not a shell from a US tank (which, although advanced, still can't fire around corners).
This is going to be a tough one to prove one way or another, although I do believe a round from themain gun of an M1A1 would do a bit more damage than is shown in the photo.
