For the last 2 days I've had to reset my Netgear modem.
This morning I briefly had connection to gmail, then lost it.
Now I the only site I can connect to is this one.
I've checked Netgear Connection and it's showing everything is up.
None of my wireless devices are working and all show no connection.
    WTF ?

I've done all that. Cleared browsing & cache.
It's relly odd becuae I usually have issues getting this site to load right after booting

Restart everything in this order: Turn everything off, then restart: Cable modem/DSL modem. Router, then devices. Wait 2 min after starting each stage.

On each device, clear the cookies, browsing history, cache, and offline files.

If you still have issues, and it's not an outage caused by your ISP provider, you will need to re-install the firmware on your Netgear router. There was a notice about malware on many Netgear (and many other routers) routers a few months back. The latest firmware cures the issue.

Here's one of the links I found to an article on the malware:

Exactly what I did. Like I said it worked fine for about 5 minutes this morning.
I can get into Netgear which shows everything up and working including WiFi.
Yet all my wifi devices show no connection.
Can't check that link as oddly this is the only site that I can connect to.
If you could copy and paste that info and either post it here or PM it to me.
In the mean time I'm going to see if one of my neighbors will give me their Wifi password.

I'll say what no one else has...

Your Netgear is a turd. It's what a Linksys router was before Belkin made them worse. Replace the router...with something other than a Netgear.

Run out and grab a router. Unplug the Cable modem while you make the trip. Cable in the new router when you get home. Turn the power on to the cable modem first. Then the router. Test for the next 10 minutes to see if the problem continues.

Thank me later on the BBS for diagnosing and correcting your issue from 3 states away.

    It's an AT&T modem/router.
Can I just go to Wally and buy one or does it have to be specific to my provider ?

You need to start at the AT&T device to trouble shoot. Did AT&T supply you with the Netgear device when they installed the service? If they did then you will likely have to again contact them to fix your service. Nothing behind it will work if there is an issue with the AT&T service.

If the Netgear was something you bought and put into place then you can go grab any off the shelf Router at Best Buy and use it for testing. Start with AT&T however and once the service is proven reliable then address anything that may be faulty within your home network.

You need to power off the ATA&T device for about 5 minutes, Turn it back on and then reboot your PC.

Whack it with something a few times also.
It may not help but it feels good.

The router/modem is the AT&T device.

Have you called AT&T about your issue ? Maybe there is a firmware update that will fix your problem.

If you plug a LAN cable into the AT&T device and in your laptop/desktop do you have internet ? If yes, then just purchase a cheap wifi router from any store, plugged into the AT&T device and use the new router for the wifi.

"When I plug the incoming at&t dsl line directly into my computer I get "No internet connection"" they need to flush the arp cache for that to work ....

AT&T is closed until tomorrow morning.
I had a friend check Walmart, they only sell cable modems.
Any other store such as Best Buy, ect is a 60 mile r/t drive.
From what I've checked through Netgear Connection Information everything on AT&T's side is working.
Which leads me to believe the modem is taking a shit.

What you need to plug into your AT&T gateway is called a wifi router.

If you plug a LAN cable into the AT&T device and in your laptop/desktop do you have internet ?
