So will Chuck finally come to his limited senses and remove DACA from the funding bill and allow a vote.

DACA is not in the spending bill so he is holding it up. So for a bunch of people who broke the law (as minors) he is willing to shut things down for citizens.

But wait it gets even funnier. The shutdown will only be non-essential services. The government employees will be paid for not working after the fact. The general shutdown will not occur immediately as Trump unlike Obama is telling agencies to run on surplus until exhausted (Obama wanted chaos and impact, remember the parks shutdown?). The 'children' are 1/3 over 25 years old. The children were up to 16 years old when they entered and were not necessarily brought here. While the illegal Obama program had parameters to qualify very few if any checks were made, instead the applicant was just asked.

Punishing Americans because he is not getting his way and giving illegals as many freebies as he wants. Now that is a guy that loves the American people! All of those assholes in Washington on both sides need to move away from focusing on trying to make the other side look bad and try to do their job for once in their sorry pathetic lives...

What kills me the most is Trump told these assholes they need to fix DACA back in (IIRC) September. Democrats had 8 years to bring it to the table and "fix" it, but didn't. Now they want to bitch. Fuck 'em.

The ass party doesn't want to do anything long-term with DACA. They NEED it for the midterm election cycle.

Seems like the repubs are arguing about more than DACA, but we can keep it simple for you. :D

Not to mention the fact that all the shutdowns do is prove that there is a HUGE segment of the government that is completely and totally unnecessary.

You do realize that if the repubs (sic) were 100% in lockstep they would still need 8 Democrats to vote with them don't you? Further the Democrat leadership has been saying this is about DACA until recently when they found out the majority of the country is against them when the polls are at least attempted to be unbiased. But they just want to kill children (CHIP)....isn't that how it worked when they were in the majority and the repubs (sic) where clogging things up?

No, I understand that the Republicans need 9 votes to get to 60. The Dems would rather stand for illegals than the citizens of this country. I hope that is simple enough for you. Schumer's Shutdown. And you might want to take a stroll down memory lane and revisit the words those same Democrats were using to refer to the Republicans in 2013. I'm pleased we finally have someone pushing back against the BS.

Yes. The Republicans are arguing about more than DACA. They are concentrating on the budget mostly and that is, in fact, what is the important issue presently. What the Democrats are doing, once again, is attach one of their pet projects to an important bill in another effort to get it passed. There is plenty of time to work through the DACA issue since it's not set to expire until early/mid March but they probably understand that DACA will fail on it's own merits so here we go. Even a number of the Democrat's favorite issues are going down with the failure of getting a continuing resolution vote. Children's insurance is one along with three or so more programs depending on the budget but that doesn't matter to them. Shut down the whole frigging world, the Democrats want to keep their illegal friends coming in. Them's votes ya know. To hear Schumer stand up in front of the press and blame Republicans for "shutting down the Government" is one of the great irritants of this whole thing.

In the eyes of the American people, the Republicans have control of congress and the White House. Actual fault is irrelevant, and they will be blamed for any shutdown.
