    Would you buy a MINT 99 GSXR750 or a MINT 01 GSXR1000??

GSX-Rs weren't available in MINT. Are you sure you're not looking at Kawasakis? :p

That's no more a choice than the OP's.
The ONLY choice is '86 GSX-R750 LTD. ;)

    Neither

For older bikes like that, it's K5/6 Liter All the Way!

    K5/6 Liter FTW!

I'm not biased- change my mind

The thing is the 2005 GSXR 1000 is the next generation. It's not like the previous 2 generations. And comparing it the oiled cooled stuff is like comparing the space shuttle to a bi plane...

And the entire board is aware of your fascination with the (your) 2005 GSXR 1000. ;)

I love first generation SV650s but that doesn't mean all the shortcomings compared to the newer generations are inaccurate. (shut up Jake!) :D

For not having any track experience you sure have a lot of bullshit advice, on practically any topic presented. Perhaps you could tell us again how the magazine suggested suspension settings have worked out for you. It would be helpful for me if you lurked way more than you post. Maybe it is just me, but I do not feel that your comments add any value to any of the threads in which I see you post.
    Have a nice day.

imho, my 2005 gsxr1K was a modern bike, not vintage. I rode/tracked/*raced it in 2016...still felt 'current' to me. just this old man's .02

Sorry, I just see him as the awkward kid that wants to be cool, so he interjects stupid into conversations that are beyond his comprehension. Remember how he started here with his cool story about his irresponsible street riding on his Gixxer 1K K5. He has since followed up with his cool stories about street rides with his friends on his Gixxer K5, riding his Gixxer K5 to work and the cool routine maintenance he has done on his Gixxer K5.
But you can feel free to enjoy his contributions. Embarrassingly, he is from WI, too.
