I always liked Doug Chandler's helmet design. Cool how he could make it work with whatever bike he was riding at the time.
'Bout time someone brought up the Roberts Eagle! I had two of the KRJRs, one in RED and one in BLUE. Nice lids. Currently I'm on the fence. The Race Fan in me still likes the Rossi Gothic scheme, although it's played out beyond belief. The Artist in me likes the Derek Hess that Bell puts out. I wish we'd see more helmet art from contemporary artists. Bell seems to be the only company doing this (Hess, Cerwinski, Sands). -Tom
Shoei did a tribute helmet to Tomizawa. Saddens me to see it, but still very cool graphics. You can tell by the design he was a fun-loving kid :-(
I'd have to pick my Yanagawa lid (Shoei X-Tec) from a while ago as my alltime favorite. Before I picked up my X-11 Kiyonari, I looked and could only find the Yanagawa (X-11) replica lid in Japan. It looked even better than the one on my X-Tec.
Some of you guys have way too much money. I quit buying replicas when I started racing. From that point on, it was solid-color Arais with free custom stickers from a friend.
That would be a tribute to Steve McQueen. I know the Gulf Porsche #20 was his racecar in the movie "Lemans", but I don't know if he actually raced it. Ditto on don't know what you'd do with it other than set it on a shelf.
