I need a new handgun...lets talk guns today. :D

I've got 2 Taurus pistols, an older stainless PT101 (I wanted a Beretta in 40 and stainless but at the time they didn't make them) and one of their little TCP 380 plastic guns. Small enough I can fit it in my pocket with a basic holster, and at least with the ammo I use it's accurate enough and feeds well (after the first 50 rounds, haven't had a FTF or anything else). I've got plenty of other stuff but between the TCP and a Kahr PM9 those are my go to pistols when I want something smaller to carry.

As others said, go to a range that rents guns and shoot a few and see which one you are most accurate with or the one you have the best feel. No issues with buying used, but find one that's still stock (i.e. not "stippled" or other modifications) and maybe get a few extra magazines and plenty of ammo. Shoot a few boxes of what you plan to carry, as well as some basic target ammo just to get used to the pistol.

I have about 1200 rounds thru my P365. So far not one hiccup with cheap range ammo. Still carry the G43 with a couple extra in the mag (extended). 1200 rounds should be enough to "prove" the gun but I'm still a bit leery to carry it based on some issues I've heard (firing pin breakage, mainly).

Stippling has nothing to do with the function of the weapon. It's just done to the grip to make it less slippery. I agree on "other modifications". People that take perfectly functioning, reliable handguns and start changing trigger parts, springs and so on. Are doing nothing but making it unreliable. See it happen all the time at the shop.

Taurus has a lifetime warranty. You can buy a used Taurus, if it has a problem they will fix it.

All due respect. A lifetime warranty doesn't do you any good when you need to protect yourself and your weapon malfunctions. I had some Tauruii in the past. I'll never own another. We don't even stock them at our shop. Stay away from cheap guns. Your life may depend on it.

I’m surprised there’s been no mention of Springfield. I’m typically not brand loyal for anything but I love me some Springfield stuff.

I carry an XDs 4” and really love it.

Did you buy that through Proven/Quantico Tactical?
They literally just sent me an email for that gun last week and I almost grabbed it...

Neither of my Taurus firearms has had an issue in the decade or so I've owned them, and shot thousands of rounds through.
I have had recalls from Springfield and Ruger though.

Gotta agree with this. I carry XDS.45 as an EDC and have tons of range time with it. Never had an issue.

You know ... here is the thing.
I believe you. And That’s great. But I’m still never ever recommending someone by a Taurus.

Yep. I picked up a cheap Taurus 92 at a pawn shop. Went to the range with my brother and his Beretta (that this Taurus is a copy of) and his Beretta jammed multiple times while the Taurus fired away, quite accurately I might add.

Traded that Taurus last year for a Glock19 that had all the goodies already done. Couldn't figure it out...dude really wanted that Taurus!

Was interested up until I caught the price tag. Nice quality and probably worth it but damn...that price tag...

Not sure if you are military or Law Enforcement eligible but these guys usually have decent prices if you are.

"Wish I could get another, not on the calif roster". Where in the Bill of Rights does it say you can only own firearms on a particular states "roster"? I don't understand how you left coasters let this shit happen. Calif has really turned into a Third World Shithole. You need to have a Revolution out there and take the state back from all the Socialists and Nazi's that run things. The Second Amendment was written for exactly what is happening in the Socialist Republic of Mexifornia.
