That thing looks like a machine in TWC's satellite images. Good-bye Keys, Tampa, Redneck Riviera...you're gonna get rolled. Weaken? From a 5 to what, a 4? What a relief! People can stay put, it's just a strong gust.
Been watching it closely as it's aimed at my parents' house. My dad is a stubborn f#ck and will probably be on his roof going all Lt. Dan. They'll be okay in FL I think, but it looks like Antigua, British Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico are in deep shit very soon. Nature is a motherf#cker. I hope this thing slows down...
Hope everyone in the Carib stays safe and that it blows through during the week next week between Road Atlanta and the MotoAmerica Barber race. Yes, I know how self centered that is.
Got some buddies that are headed down to Jacksonville with Jetski's (Stand Ups) to take advantage of the Surf Thurs-Sat.... If I were not working I would be there as well... Looks like Key West might just be a sand bar once this goes through...
We are leaving for the beach on 9/17. I guess depending on where it hits we may have to change our plans. Current reservations are for Myrtle Beach.
I'm just leaving the country to go sit in 65 degree rainy weather, but at least motorcycles are going to be going vroom vroom.
My parents are also out of town until the 15th, so now I've got two houses to prep (possibly a third to help my inlaws) and a 34' sailboat to get situated. Gonna be a busy week.
That's the truth. The tornado that hit Joplin, MO in 2011 really turned that place around. Prior to that it was a relatively stagnant little interstate town. After that tornado came through and literally tore out about half of the business district, there has been billions of dollars of new growth that probably never would have happened if those old businesses weren't leveled.
