I had a social shock this morning. I go to breakfast almost every Sunday morning with a friend that I've been riding bikes with since 1992. We never discuss politics but this morning somehow something was brought up concerning a political event. I mentioned the fact that there were more self proclaimed Socialists entering the political spectrum and mentioned this Ortiz woman from New York beginning to team up with Bernie Sanders and the pair was politicking in another state last week. My friend and I almost got into a heated discussion when he was strongly stating that what she was advocating for had nothing to do with us here in Texas since we could not vote for or against her. I never made him understand that just because she was in NY didn't mean that people in other areas in the US should ignore the woman and what she was promoting because what she stood for affected all of us.
I'm shocked because during all the previous 26 years I had no idea that he was a liberal thinking individual.
Should I just kill and bury him now or wait to see if he can be saved?
