Wife's a little bit of a hoarder but as much of a issue is the fact we haven't moved in 30 years, that helps alot with getting rid of shit. I'll get in a mood once in a while to start throwing stuff out. Doing that now in the shop since it's slow, sorting thru all the stuff I saved because I might need it and 20 years later it's still there covered with dust. Got alot of parts I've got stuck with too over the years.
BUCKETS PORKY BUCKET Tater tots loaded with melted cheddar cheese, shredded cheddar jack cheese, smoked chopped pork and bbq sauce. $8.99 Or for a more 'healthy' option go with a baked potato done the same way. A potato the size a football... SPUD PATCH THE "COWBOY" PORK SPUD Baked potato loaded with smoked chopped pork, butter, cheddar jack cheese, chives, bbq sauce and sour cream. $7.99
My mom died suddenly, a hoarder in a 2 bdr. dondo. She had a few thin paths to get around. LOTS of stuff/trash mostly. My Brother, sister and I had to fly to Dallas to clean out her condo- which was in a bad part of town, and basically workthless. She had every Barbie ever made I think, and 2-3 of many or them. She has lots of Beany babies too. We had all the stuff cleaned out by a big crew in 1 day, errything. We put the Barbies and beannies boxes and got a storage- that was about 3 years ago. Not sure what happened to them. A depressing time.
My father's wife can't throw anything away. They pay ninety dollars monthly to rent a storage unit full of crap that wouldn't bring five dollars in total at a yard sale.
I have a few 48 ft. refrigerated trailers. One of them, the engine was flooded, so we parked it, intending to fix later. Brother and his wife wanted to "store a few items" until their house was built...................well, the house was built..............they lived there 3 years........................then they sold it...........................moved to another house....................and their shit is still fills up a 48 ft. trailer. They haven't opened the doors in years. There is furniture, clothing, photo albums, you name it, all in an non-conditioned aluminum box. Told them last year I was going to chunk the shit and sell the trailer. You should have heard the screams...NOOOOOOOOOOO! WHAT'S THE RUSH ASSHOLE?!!!!
My parents are downsizing homes and I’m glad I don’t have to dig through all their shit when they die, they’re taking care of all that as I type this. They are getting ready to sell their main homestead, and are going to semi-live in my home for the next year as they get a smaller home built. I’m in the oilfield, so it’s not much of a bother as I rarely spend more than a night or two there a month, but my mom’s always been a snooper ever since I was a little kid. I hope I have all my porn out of the house, or my mom will question how my tastes in porn have evolved since the busted-with-Playboys days of yore. It’s a bit weird, though, them trying to give me their valuables. It’s not an entirely good feeling. It makes me a bit more sensitive to their still being here, and how little of importance tangible things really are. I really love those weirdos.
That reminds me, I've got half a dozen little plastic cabinets and then of course a dozen coffee cans and other assorted holders - semi sorted but really need to get everything into one cabinet/tray whatever. Wish I'd thought about it during the holiday sales.
my mom also kept some office furniture ... they actually make pretty good tool drawers... porch area for bike work makes many of my tools leave their originally posted station in the basement lol
