BTW, did anyone see.....they let PJ take the 'Blade out for a spin before the test was wrapped up. He turned a best lap of 42.2. All American Honda team for 2017????

Good to hear they're getting an engine upgrade. Hopefully it helps the lap times.

 

Wonder what sort of engine upgrade can they get within the rules.

250 laps..... Awesome. If he can't get that bike to go fast it won't be for lack of putting in the work.


But it sounds like he's quick

 

Maybe they can figure out a way to stuff a ZX10 or Panigale motor in it.

Most likely, yes. Hayden's lap time was great, especially when you consider what bike he's on, but the Kawi guys still set lap times that were a good bit faster. I don't think it takes a leap of faith to say that Hayden would have gone faster on the Kawi than he did on the Honda.


Obviously literally stuffing the Kawi motor into the Honda frame might prove to be a bit more difficult, and require some time for development.

 

It certainly was the case for Rea.

 

I'm guessing I don't know the whole story, so somebody explain it to me.

When did the kawi guys set the faster lap times?

 

1.7 a lap faster

 

At the same test

 

Same test, same day. They were about 0.8 second faster.

 

We know you don't like Hayden, but they were 0.8 faster. Not 1.7. Jeez!

 

I just read the linked story. I knew I was missing something. Thanks for clearing that up.
