Has anybody used Grundy insurance for their car? We're just about done with my XR4ti and I want to get full coverage for it. I also plan to use it as my daily driver in the summer. I was going to go with Hagerty but they will not cover daily drivers. This is it from last week getting the new windshield installed.
im not sure if this is still true, but i think any insurance company can write you a policy for a classic or restored car. just get them to appraise it. erie covered my bug for almost 10k when i had it. j
So your regular insurance company appraised your car? You didn't have to find a outfit to do it? I was thinking about $10K for my car.
The daily driver might be the issue....I have JC Taylor (which is now owned by Foremost) on 8 old bikes. Very reasonable but limited to 2000 miles a year.
Only it's rear wheel drive with independent rear suspension. "Merkur XR4Ti, advancing the art of driving"
is that a cosworth hood? cant believe its that hard to find insurance on an xr4. I have hagerty on only one car (miura) they rest are all covered by infinity (all the classics and some of the exotics) and statefarm for all the regular cars. I wish i could get every thing i own covered by state farm.
yup! have known allan since back in the day when he had a diablo sv with nitrous. I just dont post often.
The hood is a stocker that I had louvers punched in it by a local hot rod shop. $1 per punch. I was quite happy with that and gave a nice tip. Thanks Mark!
I've used Grundy for my '66 Mustang for a few years now. The price is very reasonable, and they've been great to deal with though I've never had a claim. They just wanted 2 or 3 pictures and I chose the value to insure. But, as others have said, it's never used as a daily driver so I'm not sure what they would say about that.
I was on Grundy's website and they specifically mention daily drivers. Maybe I'm making this more difficult than it needs to be and should contact my regular insurance company. I should see if they have a Agreed Value policy. OK, time to crank up the heat in the garage and get some more work done to it. One of these days, spring might actually arrive.
