OK, what is your favorite David Lee Roth/Eddie Van H. Lp? If you like Spammy Sammy pass on this thread, as the band should have quit after '1984'. You options are (in order of appearance)... VH I VH II Women and Childern First Fair Warning Diver Down 1984 My vote is 'Fair Warning'. I think the Lp was darker than VH I or VH II. There's something about that Lp that I think really seperates it from the earlier stuff, but doesn't sound like a dung heap line 'Diver Down' (the worst VH Lp EVER... ). You can take the first three Lp's, they sound pretty much the same production wise. Great songs, but I think 'Fair Warning' broke out of that production sound. That's what I think, flame on rawkers....
If you held a gun to my head and made me choose it's be Fair Warning. Diver down would be a close second.
your kidding DD is your fave? I mean, it has what... Dancin in the Streets, Cathedrial (spelling?) and a few others... but I just didn't see it as a cohesive album.
van halen 1 was without a doubt one of the best debut releases ever. it ranks right up there with led zeppelins first. and your right, there is no such thing as van halen without roth. i don't own one of those crappy post roth pieces of shit.
Re: your kidding little guitars, hang em' high, where have all the good times gone. AND FINALLY THEY STOPPED THAT BULLSHIT TED TEMPLEMAN GUITARS LEFT, BASS RIGHT MIXING PRODUCTION!
Which one had "Everybody Wants Some". Maybe its because of the kick @ss claymation bit from "Better Off Dead" but I really dig that song now from the VH classics. Overall I think VH was probably the most overrated group of their era.
no doubt VH I was da bomb, but there's alot more to the music than one CD. Too bad radio just spins either VH I or 1984.... Sammy is choke on a pole...
oh... I loved that TED TEMPLEMAN GUITARS LEFT, BASS RIGHT MIXING PRODUCTION... it was cool. Except in my '78 Olds Cutlass with one speaker.
They rocked. Brad, grad a copy of Husker Du Zen Arcade or Candy Apple Grey and give it a listen. If you don't think it rocks I'll buy it off of you for double what you paid.
what for? if anything, i'll steal it fair and square off the web. sorry dude, i don't do dreadlocks. (back to van halen) SOMEBODY GET ME A DOCTORRRRR!
