So this year so far is sucking balls. Losing a good friend in Jan, and now some serious girlfriend problems has me needing a mental reset.

Since moving from San Diego to Louisiana 2 years ago, the main thing I miss is the great roads. It was really nice jumping on the bike at 0730 and hitting all the good spots before the other bikes left Starbucks. I’m beginning to think it was more therapeutic than I thought, and since I don’t have that anymore, along with a bit of a more stressful job, might be taking its toll.

So. I took 2 weeks off and loaded up the Pani with no where to go. I’ve stopped here for a day or two, any suggestions on what roads to check out in this general area? Thanks!

Sandia crest in albaquerque - you’re only a short drive from some gorgeous roads around southern Colorado . Durango / pagosa springs / million dollar highway from durango thru silverton and ouray is gorgeous .

Red River is a cool little ski town and a beautiful area.

It might still be a bit cold but 64 between Taos and Raton is a nice ride. You could head down to Ruidoso (warmer) and hit up some mountain roads. 82 between Alamogordo and Mayhill is the most curvy road in the state. The Gila cliff dwellings outside Silver city were nice but the roads in that area are narrow and full of hippies on bicycles.

Yeah I know that area very well. I take a Jeep trip every year with some buddies in that area. I didnt know if the roads are ok this time of year. I’m usually there in sep/oct.
