Dicking around with an fzr400 and butt-dyno tuning for pods is going to be far more trouble than its worth. Get rid of the rock hard old boots and the new ones pop on so easy its almost angering:D

Ive got a 32 yr old bike that all the rubber boots, grommets, etc are worthless.
I spent close to $200 buying replacement rubber bits.

Link says he wants to run pods?
Pfft. Velocity stacks on flatslides is how an FZR should roll. :D

Hell the air boxes popped off when they were new. We'd run a bungee cord over them in case of a fall during endurance races.

So what im getting is he should buy a truck load of Zip tys and buy stock in bungy cord company so he can race his Yamaha. Lol.
Nice. Oh the things we do to keep an old bike running.
    Thanks for all the help.

I run pods with zero issues with my carb (last owner had it set perfect for them and said it was a pain in the ass to get right)... with that said I'm trying to find a set of v-stacks and flatslide carb for it

Price out a new rack from japan.webike.net, it's close to the price of a full rebuild from Sudco to just get new carbs. Next time mine are due for service I'm replacing instead of rebuilding.

Yup. New boots are the way to go. If he's done that, don't over tighten them. Pods can work, but the make the bike faster in a straight line, and slower around a track. You lose so much mid range, even when it rides smooth and proper, that they don't work for roadracing. Also, keep and eye on the emulsion tubes. They will get ovaled out and mess up the mid range. Lucky they are easy to replace.

Just went to that site and did not see the rack of carbs you refer to. Got a link directly to them?
