I thought about you last night.

Had a female approach my truck. Not terrible looking, just extremely high mileage looking.

First thing she said was that she was not a lot lizard, but wanted to know if I would vote for her.

I told her not now and she left.

Is "voting" some kind of code?

 

That's a new one to me if it is...


I deal with drivers all day, and some of the stories are something meat head couldnt even come up with. But never heard that one.

 

You could ask a truck stop employee.

 

Most of them don't know crap about anything outside the store.

 

You didn't ask what party she leans toward? I would have had a little fun with the question till she got disgusted and left. If you say yes then she asks for a "donation" then you know she's a lizard!

 

She tried to hand me some pamphlet that had seen better days. It was probably her price sheet.

I wouldn't touch that, either.

Did you ever stay overnight in a place, and something just didn't feel right? I mean, nothing was obviously wrong, but something was off.

You know for all the places I've stayed in I never have had that feeling. Hell, been staying at the Chicago Loves here last two days (the only Loves I've seen a security guard at...) and the folks here couldn't be more nice.

 

This was the Petro in Beaumont, TX. It just didn't feel right.

 

Better parking options in Baytown.

 

Hours were low. Running on recap hours to Pennsylvania.

 

Yup, Poconos, late 90's reserved a motel room, sight unseen for the Formula USA races. Morning couldn't arrive fast enough but I didn't think I was gonna see the light of day. The room had no phone of it's own. There was a spider web filled phone booth all the way down by the rental office. Learned my lesson with that frightful experience.
