At first I thought we were crazy then more I thought about it it was the way to go. I knew the bike would be safe and figured just going straight out would be better than a parking lot then thinking about it too much. I still have to log ,y hand written notes but besides attaching landing gear few other small things to do like do that wire harness proper now that we don’t have to adjust the shifter in shakedown mode, air duct for shifter, make a “bubble” for the tank and pad for tank. Will he able to use either or or both, move clip ons, can finally make more solid mounting for your feet once some more carbon fiber gets here, double check suspension and adjust as discussed, etc. All in all those are all pretty minor in the scheme of things. You certainly surpassed my expectations. I already started modifying molds and a few other odds n ends.
I can honestly say, Joe makes me a better person. He is inspiring but also has a way to calm you down and out things in perspective.
That’s awesome. Even better that old lead skull is rocking the boots, shorts, pantera shirt and dominos visor. That’s a cool video, keep em coming.
I appreciate that Doug. I guess after what I've been through anything that is a diversion from my situation is a positive so the little bumps we encountered just added flavor to the day. I love handcycling because I totally forget I'm paralyzed and the pain melts away. During the third session I was feeling more like a racer again and that same feeling came over me. I could tell I was getting faster each lap and it was getting easier and easier to do it. The wait was more than worth it. In fact, putting in so many miles on the handcycle really helped so the extra time turned out to be a very good thing. But, I am thinking about when the next adventure might be.
Mark is the one that’s always there for the good and not so good moments. He has a way of just making every situation better.
just saw this post here. Great job Joe!!! Its a long road and a small wheel, glad to see you On Track!
